A Dynamic Move from Sontronics
After beginning the year with the breakthrough releases of the first Sontronics preamps, we are proud to announce the launch of a microphone that takes the brand to the heart of the matter: a handheld dynamic microphone.
The STC-80 is Sontronics' first dynamic microphone and is a natural addition to the superb handheld condenser mics: the STC-5 and the recently released STC-6. The STC-80 boasts the same rugged construction as the handheld condenser and offers a high-quality dynamic capsule.
"When I first launched Sontronics in 2005," says brand founder Trevor Coley, "I wanted to offer top-quality condenser microphone technology in a handheld format and so the STC-5 was born... and it became an instant success. Since then we've had many requests to include a dynamic handheld microphone in our range, so we decided that we should do something about it at last! We are now proud to release the STC-80, which boasts superb sound quality and low handling noise with a totally solid feel."
The STC-80 has a frequency response from 50Hz to 15KHz and incorporates an internal pop filter that reduces the plosive 'B's and 'P's, helping to deliver first-class results.
